Multicancer Early Detection DNA Blood Tests
Multicancer Early Detection (MCED) DNA blood tests are blood-based screening tests designed to detect signals associated with multiple types of cancer from a single blood sample. Most MCED tests analyze cell-free DNA (cfDNA), particularly circulating tumor DNA (ctDNA) released into the bloodstream by cancer cells.
These tests are often referred to as liquid biopsies because they analyze blood instead of requiring tissue samples.
